30H TEACHER TRAINING
"MOVING BACKWARDS TO GO FORWARDS"
with Rebecca Hannah & Alex Hammer
From April 9th to 12th 2026

(TRAINING ONLY IN ENGLISH)

Join us for a dynamic and insightful training that explores the dualities of movement — backbending and forward folding.

Rebecca and Alex both practiced and taught yoga long before discovering contortion. After plateauing in their practice and experiencing injuries, contortion taught them the value of working with precision, strength, and technique rather than moving mindlessly through postures.

Drawing on this experience, they have developed a systematic approach to flexibility training that emphasizes:

• Individual alignment and anatomy

• Intelligent use of props

• Targeted drills and repetitions

• Thoughtful transitions and sequencing

Their method has transformed both their personal practice and teaching approach. This training is designed to help teachers and experienced practitioners deepen their understanding of flexibility and advance their practice safely and intelligently.

WHAT WILL IT COVER ?

This training blends yoga, contortion, and functional flexibility, helping teachers and experienced practitioners deepen their practice and teaching safely.

Each day will start with a flow-based practice and drills & skills session. We will work then with partner assists & partnerships and body mechanics & assessment to understand each subject deeply. Then finally, we will finish the day by a Thai flow therapy and a cool-down.

DAY 1 : External Hip Rotation & Internal Shoulder Rotation

DAY 2 : Splits + External Shoulder Rotation / Flip-Grip Poses

DAY 3 : Pike, Forward Folds & Hollowback / Wheel Variations

DAY 4 : Backbends & Scorpion-Based Poses

WHO IS IT FOR ?

This training is designed for yoga teachers and experienced practitioners. While not recommended for complete beginners, the course offers tools to adapt postures for different body types, identify areas of restriction, and develop a practice that suits your individual needs.

All that’s required is an open mind and a willingness to step beyond your comfort zone.

INSTRUCTORS BIO

Rebecca Hannah

Rebecca discovered yoga through physical theatre and performance, initially drawn to its expressive potential. After completing a 200-hour Hatha YTT and an additional 200 hours in Ashtanga, she developed a passion for blending yoga with other movement disciplines.

Her extensive training includes 200 hours of Yogic Arts with Duncan Wong (a fusion of martial arts, Thai massage, and yoga), 50 hours of Tripsichore Yoga Choreography, as well as studies in calisthenics and circus arts. She has led workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings in over 20 countries across four continents, including her signature program The Art of Flex-ability, which combines drills, assists, and transitions inspired by yoga, contortion, dance, and Thai massage.

Rebecca’s teaching emphasizes play, creativity, and mindful strength — helping students discover presence through movement as a form of self-expression.

Alex Hammer
Alex began his movement journey through bodyweight training and calisthenics. After sustaining injuries due to inflexibility, he turned to yoga — discovering it through YouTube and beginning his practice the very same day. Two years later, he completed his 200-hour Hatha YTT in Rishikesh, India, and went on to dedicate himself to Ashtanga.
Through years of experimentation and mentorship — particularly with circus artist Alexander Batuev — Alex developed a method that balances strength and flexibility, expanding both physical and mental limits.
He approaches movement as an art form and a means of self-expression, encouraging students to cultivate awareness, resilience, and joy in their practice through what he calls “intensity management” — learning to navigate effort with mindfulness and curiosity.
